  2. Must be a great event. Like the one you've recently hold in London, right? The team's afforts are huge. Everything's done for the IP's ideal understanding the procedure. Quite a rare thing to see among other reproductive clinics. Looking forward to some nice viodeos on Youtube. Stay all well.

    1. Some time ago I struggled the rollercoaster. We were with the center for human reproduction far away from home passing ivf. The worst thing of all was that we were in a case of unexplained infertility. And for me it was even more horrible not to know the reason, just some weak deductions.. These are hard times for every woman, but you are to keep on going whatever happens further.

    2. I do understand what you feel, hun. Here's a little background. I'm not new to infertility and fertility treatments. Our story started years ago when after 1.9 years TTC we had to begin consulting docs in order to find out the issues. My dh was ok, his swimmers just perfect. And I was diagnosed on luteal phase deffect. Ladies always say this is not a big deal, and it really is. Adding some progesterone is useless when they give only 10% verdict of conceiving with oe. Because of this we had to turn to egg donation. The decision of using another woman's eggs was not easy. At that time I had another situation by my side. This was my true friend who after 7 years of struggling adopted a child. So I was hesitating.. Though egg donation keeps genetic relation.. Also my favourite quote played the role; When the world says 'give up', hope whispers 'try it one more time'. So we did. It took us 2 shots to conceive beautiful twins. And now when our family seems to be completed I feel 'urgent' to have more babies. Dh is absolutely for the idea. So here we go.. another journey, the same clinic, hopefully the same people..
You shouldn't panic anyway, dear! There are so many options nowadays to achieve pregnancy. And as for your regrets, don't turn to the past. You just had reasons to put off pregnancy and there's nothing bad about this. I mean such were the circumstances. You'd better focus on today's situation. I believe the chances of ivf success are high. You only have to make the right choice with the clinic where to pass it.

  3. Unfortunately I'm not always able to attend the meatings. But for this purpose I'm lucky to watch your video records afterwards, which are great. You take time preparing those and I'm personally greateful for this. I wish I could attend one earlier when we were at research stage..but that's ok, at least I have some awesome links to advise some friends of mine, who might be looking for affordable infertility treatments. I cannot be thankful enough for that BioTex helped us to become parents through surrogacy. No one deserves childless living. So the more people know about the clinic, the more they can get actually helped through the problem. Thank you!

    1. I've just dropped in to share some thoughts. Concerning Ukraine as the destination, they do have an attracive legislation as for surrogacy. I mean according to it, intended parents are legal parents of the baby born by surrogate. Their names are written in the baby’s birth certificate. And a surrogate cannot change her mind and just keep a baby. Besides you're beyond age limits. Know this due to some acquaintances.

      https://biotexcom.com/a-unique-method-to-get-pregnant-in-your-40s-with-your-own-eggs/.
I realized I do have chances to conceive with own egg! This method is called donation of mitochondria. And, as the article says, ''this program gives women, who underwent numerous unsuccessful IVF cycles, aged 40+, patients with low mitochondrial functional activity, an excellent chance to give birth to a child who shares a genetic relationship with her and her partner. Mitochondrion is one of the most important components of any living cell, including the egg. In simple words, mitochondrion is the cell’s energy station. Essentially, its work consists in supplying the cell with vital energy for its normal functioning..'' So if the egg is not genetically damaged, it can be ''rejuvenated'' through this means. We're currently doing this plan. (really our plan C, B was donor egg). Our doctor sounds quite optimistic, this gives us hope.
I appreciate the efforts of the clinic, the way it treats its patients. They're constantly seeking for new med decisions. The staff is English speaking, so both are feeling comfortable.
      We'll see what happens next.

  5. Your clinic is widely acclaimed as one of the best fertility centers to treat infertility problems. No wonder though. You know, what makes your clinic so special? Firstly, the staff which have extensive expertise in diagnosing and treating all types of infertility!! - from the most basic to the highly complex. As the patients we received an individualized, comprehensive treatment plan developed by your fertility experts from multiple disciplines. They worked together with us as a team, and like many other desperate couples like ours. you create miracles, god bless you

  6. Thank you for giving this chance. I'm sure lots of couples may benefit from these gatherings. I also just turned 42 and have never been pregnant. As matter of a fact, I've never tried to get pregnant seriously before. because I've been chronically single( and I couldn't imagine being a single mom by choice. That said, I started my IVF preservation (egg freezing) when I was 35. And when I turned 38, my doctor at the time suggested that I start embryo freezing. Long story short, it didn't move this way. (I met my dh then and was enjoying my new status) A bit later, the more I learned about it, the more I wish I had given that a try from the get-go. For instance, my first cycle at age 40 showed 12 antral follicle count. The doc was expecting to retrieve 9 mature eggs. But in the end, only 3 were mature enough for freezing. And I was also paying out of pocket. About $22k including meds each cycle. So I was only able to afford 1 cycle per year. Not good at all I have to say. People on boards began suggesting going abroad for treatments, as it could be more afforadble. This is how my dh and I found ourselves in Ukraine, Biotexcom clinic.

    1. We've got into all this by no choice. And here are probably some of the tips, which have been helping me so far. The first thing as for the meds I’ve made conclusions on, is never read!! all the scary side effects as most medications have those!! The more you get into it the more it seems you’ll never cope with it ( if there turn to be these and those ones.) Take a deep breath and just do what you’re told. Trust people you’re working with on your aim! A good talk with someone professional about worries/concerns - RE, a nurse, a family doctor, ... whoever really helps!! This is naturally we have a lot of worries, frustration and questions. So I truly believe we need to have someone close by that can help us through every step of this intense journey. Also people on here and on other boards are extremelly helpful. Yet another thing is accupuncture. I used it mainly to calm mind - it might be something to look into too, surely. And yes, you don't have to have an ET after an ER right immediately! You can freeze them and have a FET. Thus the clinic we're with prefers fresh cycles. ( At least if the case lets it) A good thing is to look at the groups with appropriate titles on boards, so that you could get even more support.

  7. Ladies, all you. How do you decide to tell or not about what you are going through?? I  have a few people at work who know because of the constant appointments.  My parents know about my condition because I was diagnosed at 17. But they don't know much about our current treatment.  We haven't talked to any other family. Especially DH's family.  My MIL is a bit of a gossip. But also really wants grandbabies so she does unthoughtful things like buying us baby socks...You know, this is killing. So sometimes I just want to tell so we stop getting nagged about having babies. But other times I don't want to tell because I don't want everyone to hear that it's "my fault" that we don't have kids.  That is how she would spin it.  I blame myself enough, I don't need someone else to blame me too. So we're currently keeping silent about our treatments. Especially if the method of mitochondria replacement therapy we're using is still so new..

    1. Hi there. I totally understand. Moreover, I definitely relate. Every path is difficult. When we embarked on infertility treatment, we decided not to tell family and friends. And for a long time we didn’t tell anyone else. We thought, this is all going to work out, and then there will be a baby and we don’t need to tell anyone how it all happened. So there was all this pain and anxiety and sadness in our lives, but we weren’t sharing it. I also believe, we all count on own genetic material first. We try different options before moving to surrogacy as this meens more people into the process. For me turning to donor eggs was a great challenge. I’ve been always sure it will work with mine, but it didn’t. Our infertility history is quite long.
I am a 35 year old with PCOS and thyroid issues. Soon got pregnant but lost the baby. Another 16 months with multiple miscarriages and one ectopic leading to tubes removal. We knew we won’t cope without medical help. After 3 years of trying we turned to a Greek fertility clinic where passed 2 shots. #1 – chemical pregnancy. #2 – bfn. For some reasons we began feeling uncomfortable with the place and switched it onto Ukrainian biotexcom clinic. Things sounded attractive for us, we were waiting for a miracle. Though the situation turned out to be more complicated as it was before. After further investigations they gave us a tiny verdict of using own eggs. Moreover, my body couldn’t carry pregnancy so we were advised to move onto surrogacy with donor egg. The process went smoothly and quite fast. They knew for sure what they were dealing with and did their job well. We’re so much greateful for this!
Currently we’re nursing our little one. We can’t imagine our life without her and love her with all heart though we needed so many people to bring her into this world. She’s absolutely ours. So every weak and tough moment, every private cry, every heartbreak on the way was worth it. Couples should never give up and keep moving forward whatever happens as the blessing coming is incredible! I'm keeping you in my thoughts xoxo

  8. Thanks for sharing. One should definitely be aware of the mentioned factors. We faced several issues while struggling for a baby. Me – 35 year old with PCOS and thyroid issues. Got pregnant but lost the baby. Another 16 months with multiple miscarriages – hard to count and one ectopic leading to tubes removal. We knew this was the right path for ivf. After 3 years of trying we turned to a Greek fertility clinic where passed 2 shots. #1 – chemical pregnancy, #2 – bfn. Were feeling like having been robbed – we spent a fortune on treatments and got no result. Talking to ladies on different boards we happened to come across biotexcom clinic and found it rather attractive. So decided to try moving further with them. The verdict of using own eggs was too low – we were advised to move onto egg donation. Furthermore my body turned to be useless for carrying a healthy pregnancy, so surrogacy route was chosen. We’re extremely lucky to experience parenthood. Our baby-girl is our greatest miracle! Thank you sincerely for what you’re doing!

    1. Well besides some positive experiences I happened to come across these days on the internet, ladies are quite satisfied with the surrogacy programs in Ukrainian clinics. I've also found a blog where american couple is sharing their surrogacy journey step by step. Starting form the visit to the country and all the following things. They say, that after you sign contracts and make the first payment, the medical team starts the selection process that includes:
Initial pre-selection by the local coordinator
      Consultation of the fertility specialist
      Consultation of a psychologist
Legal consultation and verification of documents
screening for possible addictions (urine and blood tests)
This check-up process, including all necessary tests and exams, takes about 1 month.
Then stimulation and synchronisation stage (usually about 2 weeks). The cycle of egg donor or the biological mother is synchronised with the cycle of a surrogate mother. In case of self-treatment or violation of the treatment protocol, the clinic may cancel the cycle and terminate the contract.
Fertilisation and embryo transfer. This is when donor’s/biological mother’s eggs are retrieved and fertilised by the sperm of a biological father. After fertilisation the embryo development is monitored by our embryology unit. You are to receive the protocol of embryo cultivation and transfer within 3 working days after the embryo transfer. Then HCG test and pregnancy confirmation. The HCG test takes place 2 weeks after the embryo transfer. The surrogate mother has her test in a clinic. The first ultrasound scan is carried out in 2 weeks after the positive HCG test by the doctor. The report will be send the same or the next day after the check. Pregnancy monitoring. What you can expect during this time:
Monthly ultrasound checks from the 12th week of pregnancy. Reports along with video and/or pictures will be send the same or the next day. For trisomy screenings, results will be send within 5 working days.
      Trisomy 13, 18, 21 - on the 12th week of pregnancy
Trisomy 18, 21 - on the 16th week of pregnancy
Delivery of the baby and obtaining of the birth certificate for the baby (up to 1 week).
You may read much more on asiu.us. I find it very informative.

  9. I should say that all of your gatherings are just great. Things explained in plain words. And this is enormously good you record them. I personally used to watching the clinic's videos. Our fertility path has been long so far. It took us to different places/doctors/experts/..Unless we found ourselves in Ukraine, Kiew, BioTexCom clinic. I love all your ''weekly updates'' on fb. This is so nice to hear lovelies get their well deserved kids! After years of struggling and waiting and hoping. This is amazing! And so much inspiring! Really need this sort of announcements to my everyday struggle as we're starting our mitochondrial donation + surrogacy. Feeling nervous & excited at the same time.
Babydust to all!! Waiting for the miracle. Holly.

  10. I'll hope my brief info is helpful for anyone in need. We were with biotexcom some time ago and found this place the friendliest of all we've visited earlier. Except our greatest happiness we found there true friends we keep in touch now. If I'm not mistaken the clinic got some changes. I mean they broadened their database and avaliable contracts. You may read the details on their site. For us the most eye-catching was: Money back guarantee 100% at the beginning of our journey. You know, when counting every euro you want to get more chances for success. But this is the thing of the past now. We have our beautiful 2-year-old. This was the very 1st attempt ivf with unexplained infertility after 2,5 TTC. Just miracle for devastated us then. Also our manager's support..I cannot but value it even now. 24/7 we could phone her and get the answers. If not answers then just a soothing word to feel more comfortable and confident. I've got a plenty of things to talk about concerning our stay there. One more thing - people talk continually about the political situation in the county. It is really difficult but don't believe each single word. The devil is not so black as he is painted definitely.

  11. So many nice posts here! I'm happy I have found this very blog.
Our stories differ but we have the same aim. Unfortunately, infertility occures to women of different age groups. We can do nothing about it. I'm sorry for that you face trouble conceiving being this young, juliacurio.. But I strongly believe that we have to find strength and move on. Me - quite ripe age. DX: luteal phase deffect. Only 10 % verdict of conceiving with oe was given. Ladies around considering adoption after years of struggling. Best friend with one ovary looking for the ways out. And so many other stories which influence much. We also had to apply for donor egg as own eggs were not going to work. You know, third person presence in the process is always another emotional rollercoaster. This is when you start blaming yourself, when you feel miserable complete wreck. Oh, God, ladies it is tough from time to time.
We passed 2 cycles ivf with de finally. The 1st one resulted in BFN. They made improvements to the treatment plan and our next shot was our success. We conceived 2 beautiful tweens.
Currently we're getting ready for another cycle with de as we want to have more kids. We applied for the same clinic as we're confident with them though time passed and there may be other issues (Hope they won't find any of course, but..) We, strong ladies here deserve happiness. Babydust to all xx

  12. Thank you for conducting all those meetings!
I myself turned to know too little about the treatment options unless attending some of the webinars (on line mainly). While passing surrogacy treatment in Biotexcom we met a couple preparing for ivf with TESE. Then I did some research and found out this is not the only way to retrieve sperm. There six! main SSR treatments. All work a little differently. ~
PESA. This is perhaps the simplest and least invasive SSR procedure. Sperm is collected through a fine needle directly from the epididymis. It’s performed under local anaesthetic. If PESA doesn’t work, then NAB (needle aspiration biopsy) can be tried.
TESE. If both PESA and NAB fail, this technique can be used. TESE is a more invasive procedure. Biopsies are taken from a larger area of testicular tissue, not the epididymis. These are examined under a microscope to find small numbers of usable sperm. It’s perhaps the most popular surgical sperm retrieval method.
Micro-dissection TESE. This is slowly replacing TESE as a more optimal form of retrieval for men with no sperm in their semen. Very similar to the TESE technique, micro-TESE uses a micro-dissecting microscope to pinpoint the tissue to be removed. Much smaller biopsies are taken. Less damage is caused to the structure inside the testicle.
TESA. A needle is inserted in the testicle using a biopsy ‘gun’. This obtains samples of sperm and tissue using gentle suction. These are then carefully dissected under a microscope. Like the other techniques, any sperm found are cultured and/or frozen for future use in an IVF cycle – typically using ICSI.
Percutaneous biopsy. This is similar to TESA, but a different needle is used. It’s sometimes called a fine needle biopsy. A biopsy is taken from the testicular tissue and it usually retrieves a larger number of sperm.
MESA. This procedure usually requires a general anaesthetic, as a microscope is used. It’s carried out when PESA is not possible and may also allow an attempt to surgically correct any obstruction. There’s a 70% success rate.
Nowadays medicine creates miracles! Even in such weird situations like the one described above. A kind of a brainstorming thing..

  13. Hi, all. And as story goes, I’ve never thought I’d face this one day.. No one is ready or expects the infertility bitterness. No one imagines the pain unless undergoes it oneself.. I’m tremendously sorry for all of us sailing in this board. And praying for those who’re seeking for ways out and never stops. This said, here’s a brief note from me, my medical history is a lonely one..unless 1 year ago when I met my true love, my friend and my everything – my dear husband. Finally I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. I so the reasons for what I’d been in this for long years and that I wanted to win after all.. I just turned 34 when the infertility nightmare showed its ugly face. With my ex partner we’d been in quite long relationship since I was 27, we tried for a baby now and then for years and every time it never happened to us, so we thought that was not just the right time for having kids, you know, career, money, new house – we couldn’t stop planning everything ahead..unless me, a lady of 36 yrs old, found out that there was sb else between us..Such a painful experience!! Moreover I found out that my ex hubby actually had never ttced with me..- he just pretended!! I truly cannot find the right words to describe how miserable and broken I felt at that time!! I broke up immediately, just divided everything in two and each went his own way..
Depression.. Now I know what’s this and how better it tastes in reality..
Healing..Very long and doubtful and not always comfortable..
All my close friends have had 1-2 kids by then. Me – not a single one... How can I help??!!

  14. I wanted to ask if anyone on the same boat as me and how do you cope with the emotion roller-coaster ride? How do you go about accepting egg donor as an option and when you think should be time to move towards that path. I believe my RE already pre-empt me to think along this line.... At this time I'm devastated and really not convincing to move on to egg donor yet. With only 1 day 3 embryo on hand, clearly understand that the odds are not in my favor....Anything else to try? Mitochondria replacement therapy?? Who's experienced this??

    ReplyDelete
  15. Every option is risky I should say. And no guarantees could be given you'll get prego with the very 1st ivf shot, or with the 1st att with a surrogate. No single lady/couple told ivf/surrogacy is a walk in the park. This is a huge challenge for a person as it needs super patience and great amount of research. For us the way to surrogacy turned out to be long. Started TTC in October 2008 IVF #1 May/June 2010 - 11 eggs retrieved, 6 fertilized, 2 transferred, BFN. No frosties left. IVF #2 Nov/Dec 2010 - 7 eggs retrieved, 5 fertilized, 2 transferred, BFN. Got 1 frozen embryo. FET #1 Apr 2011 - BFN IVF #3 Sep/Nov 2011 - 6 eggs retrieved, 4 fertilized, 2 transferred, 1 frozen embryo, BFP - It's a girl! FET #2 June 2014 - BFN IVF #4 Aug/Sept 2014 - 2 follicles - Cancelled due to poor response IVF #5 May 2015 -  7 follicles, 5eggs, 3 fertilized, 2 transferred, no frosties. Got BFP but 10wks no heartbeat – misscarriage. Due to complications dr told me I couldn't carry pregnancies any more. For a sibling we had to go surrogacy route – BTC in Ukraine.

  16. I'm sure using the eggs of a younger woman is more beneficial at a ripe age. The success rates for donor egg ivf are really high. Although the process is very expensive. I'm 45, almost 46, newly married, no children. I did conceive naturally once. My Reproductive Endocrinologist was very surprised and monitored my blood levels weekly. We saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks. In a younger woman this would have meant a 90% chance of the pregnancy succeeding. At my age, however, the miscarriage rates are something like 60-70%. So conceiving is only part of the struggle. I miscarried at 9 and 1/2 weeks. It was devastating. My understanding is that the donor egg process is only available to women through age 50 or so in the U.S. But women could continue to conceive with donor eggs after that if a doctor would do the process. My husband and I were trying during all these months. Unfortunately we couldn’t conceive. Now we seriously consider donor eggs..Still coronavirus has made its changes..

  17. This is great BTC conducts such open days. Thus probably not now because of the covid pandemic. It's understandable. As for me, we started with IVF yrs ago. Passed 4 rounds with OE and DE. Last unsuccessful one in June resulted in the early mc. Our final shot with donor egg brought success. I’m currently prego with a little bean. Waiting for the 7wks scan. So from personal experience, the initial step in the IVF process is to undertake an advanced ultrasound scan. This scan is vital. Dr explained it is a key part in deciding on the treatment protocol. The imaging of the ovaries allows them to assess ovarian reserve by counting the small growing follicles. In addition they measure blood flow in the ovaries which also checks fertility status. IVF might be very stressful, no wonder. Just looking over the schedule of ultrasounds, blood work, and injections can have you feeling fragile. And that’s before the drugs can mess with your moods! The thing is if you trust your dr, it means you’re more likely to feel confident with things suggested. So make sure, you made the right choice.

  18. IVF can be used to treat infertility in the following patients:
Blocked or damaged fallopian tubes. Male factor infertility including decreased sperm count or sperm motility. Women with ovulation disorders, premature ovarian failure, uterine fibroids. Women who have had their fallopian tubes removed. Individuals with a genetic disorder. Unexplained infertility.
We are blessed to have all those ART options nowadays. So there’s always hope one finds the best solution to herself. Whether it’s pcos or some other issue, professionals will solve it and help you get you long awaited babies.
We started with IVF yrs ago. Passed 4 rounds with OE and DE. Last unsuccessful one in June resulted in the early mc. Our final shot with donor egg at bio texcom brought success. I’m currently prego with a LO. Waiting for the 7wks scan. Good luck needed.
