Between Love and Hate: FTS & BTC

Such a well-known NON-PROFIT organization as Families Through Surrogacy, committed to its mission of providing complete and reliable information and support to intended parents, proved that their commitment to their sponsors is what really matters. Getting professional advice and assistance, keep in mind that competition is high and not always healthy and what you get is not necessarily what you asked for but it’s definitely what is sponsored. Here is a good example of how the business works.

Comments

  1. I'm just shocked this could happen..This is definitely not the best approach for Families Through Surrogacy. This situation only shows they consider you to be ones' true competitors (their sponsors in this very case) So what about the relevant info they're aimed at providing?! Why no let Biotexcom have its word or just be present among other representatives..Too weird for the reputable organization!!

  2. This makes sad, guys. I'd not like to be in the situation when the necessary information is provided on those principles. Being in favor of sponsors when IP throughout the world are looking for answers is no good. i'm sorry you cannot attend the meeting. thought it would be very useful to others to know what servces you offer. My wife and i are gald we're with you. Someone on the forums wrote ''we're on different treatment stages but on the same path'' may this year bring luck to all bio tex com patients

    1. I read quite often ladies pass FETs. Some clinics are taking advantage of egg-freezing technology. According to latest data, the rate of live births from fresh donor eggs is 56%. and the rate of live births from thawed eggs is 43%. I guess that is why BioTexCom opperates with fresh eggs only. Moreover those are blasts embryos used for the embryo transfer. I believe all this does contribute to their high live birth rates yearly.

    2. Hi! With the large amount of info avaliable today going to Ukraine might be a great solution. Friends of mine went with biotex clinic too. They seem quite satisfied with it. According to legislation of this country, intended parents are legal parents of the baby born by surrogate. Their names are written in the baby’s birth certificate. A surrogate has no chance to keep a baby after signing the contract. For me this is the most important point as you've probably read a lot about how things happen to parents in other countries.. Besides they didn't pay the whole sum of money at once. If I'm not mistaken they paid in 5 instalments. No age limits and the opportunity to choose among surrogacy programs - all seems attractive for me.
I myself am planning to use mitochondrial donation IVF. Our lovely doc says my eggs need some more energy. So this needs to be added. I'm praying my eggies will do it! And the baby will be MINE genetically!!!Wish everyone her best and would be glad to hear some of the perfect news here.

  3. Oh no, this can't be the truth..How unfair!! What's the point of not letting you just be there?? As far as I know they're aimed at cooperating with clinics and providing the info to the IP. Why not let you participate then! I understand this might be the point of being sponsored by some clinics or sth and that they don't want any competitors. But I really doubt then what for this all is....

    ReplyDelete
  4. Well, guys, it's weird. Personally I cannot understand such 'cooperation'. IVF is very expensive and is not 100 percent successful! So IP should know all of their possibilities at different clinics. IVF requires the injection of expensive fertility medications, so why not to know, for example, that Biotexcom has packages where the meds price has already been included. All those medications might cause discomfort, so it would be nice for IP to know they are going to be treated well and taken good care of. Also treatments may cause undesirable side effects. So IP must get well informed about them and have sth like support line. Then cycles require several office visits to monitor the patient’s progress through ultrasound imaging and blood tests. All the patients should feel at comfort with the staff they relay on in this journey. Taking all those things into consideration, I cannot understand why not let people know about all the benefits they can have when using Biotexcom clinic. This is just weird and irrespectful..

  5. Thank you for sharing this news. Quite surprising, no doubt. There must be some reasons for the Families Through Surrogacy not to let you, guys, take part in the meeting. And I don't think those are only sponsors matters. I guess they see you as true competitors for those 'beloved' clinics. That's why creating all those obstacles for you. Taking into consideration they're 'non-profit' organization, a lot of other questions arises..

    1. Hi. I'm with you.
Moreover, I'm absolutely for any kind of treatment if only it's gonna be successful. DE ivf as well! This was the only possible way for us to achieve pregnancy after years of struggling. That time me -45 yo, pretty ripe age for manipulations.. POF and numerous cysts on my ovaries. Aged eggs and no hope for natural conceiving. So why not to use donor's eggs and get the chance?! Our donor was 27 yo attractive lady with proven fertility. Furthermore we were able to choose among others from the clinic's database. Of course our doc had the last word but we were satisfied to have detailed information about the donor with photos before going through the process. Among their requirements for the donors were: age from 18 to 25, perfect physical health, perfect mental health and absence of genetic diseases. The clinic guaranteed minimum 3 healthy high class embryos for embryo-transfer procedure. We were completely assured of great chances. And they were successful. After shot#2 I conceived my beautiful daughter. Afterall I can't say the decision about using de was extremely difficult for us. It was just the way out of the childless nightmare. And of course all those pros ladies write about. No matter how babies come to this world - we love them with all our heart.
      Sending all positive vibes.

  6. Oh my, it's not fair. I'm sorry, guys, you weren't allowed to. And the reason is weird to me. working for sponsors or working for people? Why not let biotex just be present at the meeting then? Linda johnson comments accurately. What's the aim of such an organization then?

  7. This is frustating..We had 3 clinics on the list we would ike to visit in Kiev. Unlike Biotexcom and despite of all the impression it has made on us, Ilaya, for example, seemed to be really deserted. The only patients we saw there were locals. No Europeans or other foreigners met. We saw a local woman, obviously patient, who was definitely not happy with something so they had to clarify.. The reception girl we were talking to was not very good in English so it took them time to understand what we want - not worthy though..We chose biotex, and I personally cannot see the reason people may know nothing about it due to mentioned circumstances.some silly unfair game

    1. Ladies out there who are having similar thoughts and feelings as I am. I feel some kind of consolation even by just reading all the comments and posts. Infertility treatments can cost many thousands of dollars and involve strong drugs or hormones. It can also be an emotional roller coaster. Knowing your limits will keep you from being talked into some new procedure that you really don't want and can't afford. When it's time to choose a clinic, one always researches ahead of time. One keeps in mind that some fertility centers that looked great several years ago may have had a lot of turnover in staff and may have gone downhill in quality. But the numbers surely give one a place to start!! So why not to take into consideration the amount of work Biotexcom teams is doing for their patients. I'm takling here not about the so called 'success rates''. But ''live birth rates''!! which is a crusial moment in every kind of treatment, right?. I'm satisfied we found this very fertility centers among all the others. The team's cooperating extremelly well. They inform in time and explain all the details of treatment plans. They DO NOT hide costs and additional fees which is a great relief for every couple. The only thing I think might think of these are the competitors making all those obstacles onto their hard resultful work.

  8. Along with many other aspects, IVF can also be difficult emotionally. Both for the person having the procedures and for their partner and/or family. Many people doing IVF treatments struggle with depression and anxiety throughout the process. So talking with people who’ve been through fertility struggles and IVF can be really helpful if one is feeling overwhelmed or discouraged. Online and in-person communities are good places to meet people who understand what you’re going through and can offer advice and support. I personally think THIS IS the aim of such organisations – help people who are in need of the best advice. If restricting the fertility centers which do have high live birth rates, like Biotexcom, then there's no use in any at all. That's very sad truth.

  9. How weird it is!!
Four and a half years ago I said to myself it's now or never. You'll never be completely ready to have a child so just take the plunge! So I did. The months passed nothing happened. Then a year, then another and another and another and then this last one. We belong to the unexplained infertility category. One unsuccessful IUI , five rounds of Clomid, unsuccessful IVF rounds with own eggs..We did waste huge money sums!! If only could we know some overseas clinic Biotexcom offers those affordable all-inclusive 'guaranteed' packages!! This could hold us on a flow.. Unfortunately we got to know much later when had to spend another year saving for further treatments. Came to Biotexcom for surrogacy process.
I can't see the reason why Families Through Surrogacy behaves this way taking into account Biotexcom is on the top of other fertility centers in Kiev..Don't people deserve to know more about the places they can be REALLY helped?!!
Hope this situation will change for better.

  10. Why am I not surprised, kind people here?!! Dirty games of competitors, nothing more. BioTexCom is a gigant in surrogacy sphere. It's the top clinic in Ukraine. Hundreds of couples come monthly there and sign up their contracts and are sure to be the best taken care of. Ukrainian law allows to issue birth certificate to intended parents' names regardless of their genetic links to the child. Donor or a surrogate mother has no parental rights over the child, who is legally the child of the prospective parents from the moment of conception. Surrogacy in BioTexCom in particular offers the following advantages: Unlimited number of attempts. Money loss coverage. Opting for donor eggs for no extra waiting. Medications included into the package prices and many others. Their plans are well thought out. They're aimed to make the saty with them the best experience. I personally got to know some people on forums who came there for the second baby. To me it's a great sign. People do achieve success with them. That's why they're ready to come back again. And, frankly speaking, why not come back?!! Even if VIP surrogacy plan 50k euros is signed up, all-inclusive, unlimited number of shots, guaranteed, IT IS MUCH cheaper than a single shot in the USA, for example. (You're more likely to have this some 80k dollars the least in case you have a kind family member or a fried who's willing to carry the baby for you).
Taking all these facts into the consideration, there is definitely the list of reasons why not to introduce the clinic to more and more infertile couples. Otherwise they'll all find themselves in Ukraine, at BioTexCom soon..

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'm not sure what it's made for. being these competitors or anything else. What makes me really sad the mentioned organisation made this huge mistake when hasn't allowed you to take part in the gathering..people must know about your clinic, like any other one and then make their own choice! BioTex has definitely marvelous services to offer within its packages!! Why not let people know they can undergo treatments in a perfect way for less money than they truly expect?! That's frustrating.

    ReplyDelete
  12. So what can I say.. Have never expected to see this piece of news from you. And the way you've been treated by Families Through Surrogacy.. is frustrating. They shouldn't have done this definitely. Because in my personal opinion, this is not about the competiors or sth. It's all about childless people who want their little ones more than anything else in their lives!! This is not the space for the clinics to compete. Though, I'm sure for some reproductive centers this is the true way to earn money. Purely to make profits from people's pains. But I'm sure NOT ALL the clinics have this very approach. BioTex is the one which does it's best to HELP! This is the reason they've invented their ''guaranteed success'' packages. those enable the couples to get the reasurance they're under the best supervision. and that the clinic staff is doing everything they can to complete the procedures successfully. If your case allows they'll offer you the unlimited number of attempts, which is an absolutely rare thing to see among other clinics. I suppose this makes BioTex even unique in this field. The most important thing is that they do get high live birth rates and treat the toughest cases.

    1. This ''guaranteed success'' package of theirs is a perfect invention! From what one can read in pdf on their web site:
ECONOMY Package 4.900 euros includes the following services: - 1 embryo transfer; - medical treatment. The clinic doesn't have an age limit for egg donation programs; - medications needed before transfer and one month after; - egg donor fee (their donor base contains more than 600 young and attractive women with proven fertility, meaning that every donor has at least one healthy child of her own); - sperm donor (if needed) - pregnancy monitoring till 12th week - services of the coordinator in charge of the program; - accommodation; - meals; - transfer from/to the airport and from/to the clinic. Thus it doesn't include the following services: - selective reduction will be charged additionally; - TESA, TESE will be charged additionally; - PGD/PGS.
They perform PGD testing as well. PGD is used to test for chromosomal abnormalities in embryos. Including problems with the number of chromosomes or structural rearrangements. This aneupoidy testing may be recommended for any woman who have had multiple miscarriages; for women over 35 who have had a miscarriage; or for couples who have had multiple unsuccessful IVF cycles. PGD is also used to test embryos from couples with a genetic disease in their family which is absolutely great.
Their plans are well thought out, no doubt.

    2. I agree with the above comments. IVF can seem like a scary process but if you truly want a baby, this is the path you need to take (assuming this is your only option). If you read all the side effects of every pill you take, you will just drive yourself crazy. Take a deep breath, review the medication you have at hand. and address your concerns with your doctor. You'll be just fine! The injections aren't as scary as you think. Just remember that you're strong women and you'll do it!! As for freezing eggs, a lot of women opt out of a fresh transfer and then decide to do a frozen one later on. You can also do PGD testing on the embryos before your transfer. which will mean you'll have a frozen transfer as well. Just drop a line if you have any questions. These boards are filled with support and helpful information. I hope you find peace during this process and are able to relax and not stress too much during this ride. Remember that stress is bad for you as well during this whole thing. Hugs.

    3. I'm adding. Here are some of the regular hints. We travelled abroad for de ivf treatment more than a year ago. So I found these pretty useful for myself then. Eat more fruit and vegetables for vitamins and fibre. Diary products - milk on your cereal or a yoghurt is an easy way to add calcium to your diet. Try and keep red meat to a minimum and make some of your protein servings vegetarian. Tofu and quinoa particularly are considered to be 'fertility foods'. Nuts, avocado, seeds and oily fish for essential fatty acids. And of course dont forget your fluids. You need to drink plenty, about 1-2 litres a day. They say water helps in the process of transporting hormones around the body and even thins cervical mucus. It makes it easier for sperm to swim.
Here is the list of foods you'd better avoid. Liver, pate and other foods with high levels of vitamin A.
Too much vitamin A from meat and fish sources can cause birth defects. Shark, swordfish and marlin. Bigger fish that swim deeper in the sea contain high levels of mercury, which could harm a developing baby's nervous system. Oily fish like mackerel, salmon, sardines and fresh tuna. Limit to two portions a week. They are good for you,but can contain pollutants, which can build up in your body over time. Too many processed foods like ready meals and simple carbs and sugars. They’re not dreadful, they just aren’t bringing much to the party nutrition-wise and are usually full of salt and sugar. Alcohol. No explanations needed.
Caffeine. There is inconclusive evidence that caffeine can affect your ability to conceive. There are no guidelines for pre-pregnancy but once you do get pregnant you are advised to only have 200mg a day because of the increased risk of miscarriage. Remember a lot of soft drinks and some medicines contain caffeine, too.
      Much of love and support.

    4. I understand your feeling nervous before any procedure. It always feels like that.
I would just share my experience with laparscopy surgery.
We tried this while ivf cycling for our son. On the whole my lapo passed well. When they did the surgery, it was all very simple and straight forward. My kind surgeon decided to have a good look around in my insides and checked everywhere.
When I came to I was unbelievably sore. It felt like someone had turned my insides upside down and back to front. I had 2 shots of morphine after the surgery. Once I got home I had panadene forte. All up I was in hospital for just under 24 hours.
It took me about 3-4 weeks to recover enough to be able to lift a washing basket. I was very tender for the first 2 weeks. After the 5 week mark I was fine and healed really well.
I will suggest to go in with an open mind about healing time.
Give yourself as much as you need. Don't rush into trying to do things like picking up washing baskets etc. As you can do more damage and take longer to heal. Rest when you can. (This is something that I didn't get a chance to do. I suspect that's why it took longer to heal). Also if you can get people to help you, let them.

  13. That's definitely nice to see more people support you. People must know about Biotex and its amazing procedures! The last piece of news I read was about their new treatment method - mitochondrial donation. Got interested as it said, women 40+ can still conceive with their own eggs! Sounds impressive. So I googled a bit and here's what I got to know. #Mitochondrial donation is an IVF technique that gives families affected by mitochondrial disease the chance of having healthy children. It involves taking the DNA out of a woman’s egg that has faulty mitochondria (the ‘batteries’ that give all our cells their energy), and transferring it to a donor egg with healthy mitochondria. And this information made me really aware:
    Why does mitochondrial donation matter?
Approximately 1 in 200 children in the UK are born with faulty mitochondrial DNA.
While many people have mild or no symptoms, around 1 in 6,500 may develop more serious mitochondrial disorders.
In many families, mitochondrial disease affects multiple family members.
The disease can occur at a young age and lead to disability and death. Currently there is no cure.
That's why, guys, who are looking for solutions. Take a glance at this very method. I wish they performed it earlier when we were just about to start treatments. You, guys, have this chance.

    1. Here are more details on the issue: https://biotexcom.com/a-unique-m
      ethod-to-get-pregnant-in-your-40s-with-your-own-eggs/:
''BioTexCom Center for Human Reproduction offers patients who are above 40 and for those, who suffer from low levels of AMH, an innovative program that makes it possible to get pregnant with their own eggs. Mitochondria replacement therapy is an innovation and a breakthrough in the field of ART and the fertility treatment. This program gives women, who underwent numerous unsuccessful IVF cycles, aged 40+, patients with low mitochondrial functional activity, an excellent chance to give birth to a child who shares a genetic relationship with her and her partner. Mitochondrion is one of the most important components of any living cell, including the egg. In simple words, mitochondrion is the cell’s energy station. Essentially, its work consists in supplying the cell with vital energy for its normal functioning. Women that went through multiple unsuccessful IVF attempts, as well as of older reproductive age, need to restore oocyte mitochondria in order to successfully become pregnant. A woman can become pregnant only if there are functionally active mitochondria in her oocytes. Donation of mitochondria will allow thousands of hopeless women to give birth to a healthy child through IVF using mitochondrial donation. To carry out such a procedure, an egg donor with a high functional activity of mitochondria, a patient, and sperm for in vitro fertilization are required. Healthy functionally active mitochondria are taken from a donor’s oocyte and integrated with the patient’s cells. Next, fertilization with sperm and transfer of a healthy embryo into the patient’s uterus is performed. Mitochondria donation is a unique assistive reproductive technology, which is basically the implantation of a healthy and functionally active donor mitochondria into the cells of an infertile patient, that provides the patient’s cell with the necessary energy and contributes to successful pregnancy.''
Mitochondrial DNA and Human DNA are different things. It only gives that necessary energy to the oocyst and helps with developing an embryo and make it stronger. DNA is in the core of the mitochondria, which are not used for donation. Therefore, genetically, mitochondria have no effect on the embryo. You get genetically related to you baby!
I believe this is the true way out for lots of couples who cannot accept using donor egg.

    2. No good at all....people should know more about their options.
I'm a textbook of infertility treatments myself. We're currently undergoing IVF at Biotexcom (Came here for relatively affordable prices as were paying out of pocket on previous unsuccessful treatments home). When I was preparing for our following IVF cycle, seems I did everything I could. And at that very time my co-woker announced her pregnancy! It sounds terrible, but I almost felt like she hasn’t earned it..This was her very first FET. No miscarriages or chemical pregnancies. No putting her body through the hot flashes and night sweats of depot Lupron or other autoimmune protocols like those painful Lovenox injections. No heartbreak when the beta comes back 0. Or worse, when it’s 24 and then vanishes. She was even able to genetically test her embryo. One PGD-normal embryo, one transfer, one pregnancy, one baby. It was hard for me to wrap my head around. Several of my friends have used IVF with OE and all have been successful. All of them over 40 years old. Why not me?! We finally switched the clinics, flew to Kiev, Biotexcom. Are currently using their new treatment method of mitochondria replacement therapy and IVF. Doc is quite optimistic. Me too!

  14. Hi all lovely people here! We all know this burden, right?
I believe we are not the only ones. But the beginning of the process was rather stressing for us both I should admit. as it all was completely new to us! We had our 1st app in March in Biotexcom clinic, Kiev. (Dealing with mitochondria donation OR donor eggs along with IVF this time if the former doesn't work). Unfortunately, time is sth which is not under control when it comes to fertilty. It was an unpleasant piece of news for me, for all the family, when our first fertility doc told us I was not going to have a genetically related to me kid. So devastating!!- Seems I'd never felt so broken and miserable before..We've got into all this by no choice. And here are probably some of the tips, which have been helping me so far. The first thing as for the meds I’ve made conclusions on, is never read!! all the scary side effects as most medications have those!! The more you get into it the more it seems you’ll never cope with it ( if there turn to be these and those ones.) Take a deep breath and just do what you’re told. Trust people you’re working with on your aim! A good talk with someone professional about worries/concerns - RE, a nurse, a family doctor, ... whoever really helps!! This is naturally we have a lot of worries, frustration and questions. So I truly believe we need to have someone close by that can help us through every step of this intense journey. Also people on here and on other boards are extremelly helpful. Yet another thing is accupuncture. I used it mainly to calm mind - it might be something to look into too, surely.
And yes, you don't have to have an ET after an ER right immediately! You can freeze them and have a FET. Thus the clinic we're with prefers fresh cycles. ( At least if the case lets it)
A good thing is to look at the groups with appropriate titles on boards, so that you could get even more support. You'll find more info about the process and waiting times which will definitely help you in the long run. And ask your RE about any concerns you might have. Be as much involved into the process as possible. Get notes not to abandon some crusial points of treatments. GL to all and please talk to a professional any time you need to have your mind at ease. You will feel so much better and confident when starting.

  15. Every path is difficult. When we embarked on infertility treatment, we decided not to tell family and friends. And for a long time we didn’t tell anyone else. We thought, this is all going to work out, and then there will be a baby and we don’t need to tell anyone how it all happened. So there was all this pain and anxiety and sadness in our lives, but we weren’t sharing it. I also believe, we all count on own genetic material first. We try different options before moving to surrogacy as this meens more people into the process. For me turning to donor eggs was a great challenge. I’ve been always sure it will work with mine, but it didn’t. Our infertility history is quite long.
I am a 35 year old with PCOS and thyroid issues. Soon got pregnant but lost the baby. Another 16 months with multiple miscarriages and one ectopic leading to tubes removal. We knew we won’t cope without medical help. After 3 years of trying we turned to a Greek fertility clinic where passed 2 shots. #1 – chemical pregnancy. #2 – bfn. For some reasons we began feeling uncomfortable with the place and switched it onto Ukrainian biotexcom clinic. Things sounded attractive for us, we were waiting for a miracle. Though the situation turned out to be more complicated as it was before. After further investigations they gave us a tiny verdict of using own eggs. Moreover, my body couldn’t carry pregnancy so we were advised to move onto surrogacy with donor egg. The process went smoothly and quite fast. They knew for sure what they were dealing with and did their job well. We’re so much greateful for this! Currently we’re nursing our little one. We can’t imagine our life without her and love her with all heart though we needed so many people to bring her into this world. She’s absolutely ours. So every weak and tough moment, every private cry, every heartbreak on the way was worth it. Couples should never give up and keep moving forward whatever happens as the blessing coming is incredible!

  16. Dear Rebecca Louve,
We all understand what you've been through. Every couple on this challenging way has to deal with all sorts of expectations and hopes. It's more than natural. At the beginning of our journey I was 48 and already had my 14 yo daughter. Also my new husband who wanted to have his own kids. And also my POF, cysts on ovaries and aged eggs.. We ttc for 2.2 years before it became absolutely clear we couldn't do it without medical help. So we started thinking about ivf as the way out. Well, I can't say it was great money matter for us, but with the sum we wanted to avoid the majority of risks. After the first steps with the clinic and our RE we had to consider using DE. And that part was more difficult for us, for me, because I blamed myself. My dh was super supportive at that tough moment. Finally, we passed the egg donation program 'Success' for €9900. The package implied five attempts. In the case of failure they refund all sum of money paid. One more thing. The process won't take your entire life!! You will have plenty of time to do your best. But if it's happened you are in this particular need then just go on. Talking to kind ladies here and there, sharing views, investigating things and making decisions makes wonders. Everything depends on both of you. Right now after all that long painful road we are the family of 4. My beautiful daughter from #3 de ivf. We're happy and have nothing to regret about. Much of love and support. Take care all lovelies everywhere. I hope my story might be inspiring for others. All the very best of luck and support.

    1. Thank you for sharing your story. I’m getting ready to my second IVF with surrogacy. I should say this’s so hard to be positive and focus on upcoming cycle. Last year 3 of my friends announced their pregnancies. Obviously all of them have had their babies by now. I wanted to join them so badly. But this didn’t happen. Three days ago I went out with my bff who is 7+ months pregnant. We had a very nice evening and it was great seeing her. But the whole time I was thinking how I want to be in her shoes! She’s got pregnant from the first month ttc. And here am I who’s trying the whole freaking eternity!
She wasn’t talking that much about her pregnancy- She knows about my disability to have kids on my own. But still she was bringing some pregnancy issues up. I understand why, now her baby is the most important in her life. It was hard not to burst into tears, though I’m so happy for her. I imagine myself being pregnant, having all those pregnancy symptoms, talking to my belly and doing many many more things which future moms do!! But all of a sudden one thought has always made me scared and sick – I might never become a mom. I'm horrified at times and seems nothing can help me..Positive thinking and hope are everything I have. Being not pregnant and struggling for my first ever baby among pregnant who haven’t even tried is so hard…
On Sun I got a message from my ex roommate telling me that she is 16 wks prego. After I sent her my congrats she texted back to ask what are we waiting for and why we haven’t thought about starting a family! I felt so down, though she doesn't know about our issues..Sometimes this road is very hard to move through..

  17. I'm not new to infertility and fertility treatments. Our story started years ago when after 1.9 years TTC we had to begin consulting docs in order to find out the issues. My dh was ok, his swimmers just perfect. And I was diagnosed on luteal phase deffect. Ladies always say this is not a big deal, and it really is. Adding some progesterone is useless when they give only 10% verdict of conceiving with oe. Because of this we had to turn to egg donation. The decision of using another woman's eggs was not easy. At that time I had another situation by my side. This was my true friend who after 7 years of struggling adopted a child. So I was hesitating.. Though egg donation keeps genetic relation.. Also my favourite quote played the role; When the world says 'give up', hope whispers 'try it one more time'. So we did. It took us 2 shots to conceive beautiful twins. And now when our family seems to be completed I feel 'urgent' to have more babies. Dh is absolutely for the idea. So here we go.. another journey, the same clinic, hopefully the same people.. We're confident with the place as were successful with them. But honestly I do worry how it all will pass to us this time as time never plays on our side. We really need some support and more successful stories to keep strong. Wish everyone here a lucky year! Waiting for the rainbow..

    1. Ivf doesn't work from the very first time for the majority unfortunately. There are a lot of reasons for this. And mainly docs don't know the exact one themselves. No wonder though there are lots of things we cannot rule over. But it's important to find the source of strength to keep on moving. Some get sb at side to talk to. Others turn to support groups & boards or blogs like this which is amazing. We all come here to get answers and share our concerns. We all are on different stages with our treatments but we're on the same path. We want our kids into life and have to struggle for them. I know how painful this road can be. I've been through numerous medicated cycles and 4 own egg ivf rounds – all of them failed. Our last resort turned out to be using a surrogate. We came to BTC because there are so many positive overviews about them. Waited not for long. (Comparing to waiting lists elsewhere). Our kind surrogate went through the ET in Aug. Beta confirmed pregnancy)

    2. A good consultation with the fetility expert might be a good answer in your case. They will take a history from both of you and talk through the tests you may need in coming months. Even if your husband's semen analysis is okay this doesn't mean that they will only consider you. He will probably be asked at some point to give another sample. You are in it together so they will always prefer to talk to you both. It also helps as any slightly abnormal results I got sent me into hysterics and total over reaction where as my husband listened properly and responded calmly. He's been always awesome! They will want to see you both for the first appointment but don't tend to mind for further appointments. Most tests are covered by the NHS. But some treatments are only available on the NHS if neither of you have children from a previous relationship. It requires the two of you to make the baby so at times they will need to discuss your partner's results with you so.will need consent to share this (even just confirming his semen analysis is fine with you is a data protection issue of not). They will ask you to sign consent forms for this on your first visit. The list of tests your doctor will likely request after seeing you: Progesterone CD21 Blood Test. LH, FSH, Estrogen, Progesterone & Testosterone CD2-5 Blood Test. Ultrasound on Uterus. HSG Scan. Hope this helps and good luck!

  18. To me it's incredibly frustrating that surrogacy is banned in much of Europe. The United States, however, has no national regulation. The country has just a variety of state laws. Catholics are more likely to say that surrogacy ''promotes the exploitation of women and infertile couples and the dehumanization of babies. In short, it traffics for profit in human lives." I truly cannot agree with it, that is the inner part of me thinks differently!
Fortunately, hiring surrogates and purchasing sperm, eggs, or others' leftover frozen embryos, have become accepted as choices on a menu of options. This is so called right of those who can afford it. This is all about the creation of a third, autonomous human being! Furthermore, surrogacy does not provide a sustainable income for the indigent and most surrogates claim their motive is not financial.
Today, most surrogate births involve a process known as gestational surrogacy. This is the type of surrogacy where the carrier is impregnated with an already-fertilized egg. These children have the advantage of being genetically related to both parents.
I used to hear now and then ''Why you're doing all this? - Adopt instead!'' And of course, adoption is promoted to help orphans and foster children. Adoption also provides some semblance of screening to protect the welfare of the children being transferred. Like in surrogacy. But I believe everyone has right to choose what's better for him.
Of course there are a lot of methods to try out before moving onto fertility treatments.
Women can actually benefit from Yoga, balanced diet, and regulat active workout if they are ttc. Yoga can also cure some of minior male infertility issues. Besides the detox and de-stressing it also helped them beat-down the anxiety, depression tendencies. As well as reduce discomfort and pain during the gestation period. This should not be however, misinterpreted as only these measures can help when there's an actual problem. In that case the clinical assistance plus any of these is perhaps the solution.

  19. Unfortunately it's not usually enough to try adding supplements or vitamins in order to get pregnant. Or making some lifestyle changes. Or anything else. My story is a vivid example of how one should be time wise with fertility issues. I'll try to make it short, but if fail, I'm sorry..Both dh and me were closer to 40 when started ttc (since Dec 2010).His swimmers were perfect. The problem turned out to be in me. After first year of trying I was diagnosed on DOR. After that feeling miserable, deffective, complete emotional wreck..what else to add..some of you, lovelies, know how infertility sucks..We tried natural cycle with clomid - too many to count! Then IUI shot followed cencelled because of cysts. Another try IUI Sep 2014 resulted in bfn. It seemed we wasted so much time on unappropriate procedures. We really felt robbed for time. Every other month was so precious and noone could say for sure what should be our next more successful step. Taking our previous negative experiences into consideration we decided to switch clinics for an overseas one. Well, needless to add we've tried almost everything possible to change situation for better naturally. I mean healthy dieting for both, doing sports, yoga, relaxation techniques, vitamins, supplements, accupuncture..Though dh's spwimmers were perfect he was my rock of support and shared things with me. I'm so thankful to have him by my side! So coming back to our ivf#1 with a new clinic. On ER in July 2016 they got 4 follies 1 egg only (( The news was devastating I really didn't expect such poor results. On ET day they placed back 1 blast which looked nice they told but it never made home inside me. After further investigation done they advised us looking onto donor eggs. They told us my eggs weren't going to work and we'd have more chances with using another woman's eggs..You don't hear such things every day - hah/ I thought I was going mad. I didn't want my dh be involved with another woman in making OUR baby! The decision was hard and tough and full of concerns for me. It wasn't so for dh as he wants kids so much he doesn't seem to care much how it comes to this world. But for me it was much harder..I needed time to get there and have my mind on peace..Well, ladies our journey continues. We've already had the 1st consultation with the clinic. Moving through the treatment plan currently. Everything seems fine, let's say much better than it used to before. I'm just trying to live healthy life. Dh is awsome. This time I don't know why but I have the strong belief it will work out. I'm not sure I'm doing right sharing my story with you, lovelies, on this very thread. But I wanted to say that seems there doesn't exist any kind of a pill or some sort of a secret using which one can get prego in a cough. This is a timelong hard work for all sides: patients, docs. And finding the best medical centre for you is just vital where you trust people and hope for better. Cases differ much, dear ladies, and I do wish this path is much easier and smoother for more people. And unless we don't give up and keep on moving we can expect changes for better. One thing only to add - when you only get suspicious with possible fertility issues - do go staight to docs and apply for their help as soon as possible!! Time is precious...
Thanks for your time. Just needed this off. ..

  20. I've heard the army of ladies have positive experiences of using Ukrainian clinics. Actually this was one of the factors we've chosen this destination as well. I think I should tell more about myself. I'm 36 yrs old with one ovary only and POF. My last AMH test results came in 4 which is definitely low. I already have a kid of 2 yrs old conceived naturally. But from that time things changed dramatically leading me to infertility. Trying supplements, acupuncture & of course some of the life changes brought no result. So after year of trying we found ourselves at a fertility expert who told us awful news. From that point we were meant to go straight to surrogacy with oe because of much higher success rates for our our case. My husband has always been the rock of support, so we searched for options together. He's been with me every tough moment I'm extremelly thankful for. I need to add I have an identical twin sister who has 2 children. She won't have more because her dh has had a vasectomy. Once we considered using her eggs in case oe were useless. Though I don't think we both got there, so we decided not to risk with relationship anyway.. After weeks of self educating and searching we made the decision to go abroad. We've already had our 1st consultation with BTC clinic which was unexpectedly productive and smooth.

  21. I agree, one should study information carefully. The most responsible choice is though of the country to undergo surrogacy in. there are so many info on the internet it's really hard to make head or tail of it. Since I'm thankful there are videos like that to get the initial insight into the process. After passing some steps with BioTexCom in Ukraine I can describe the start of the process like this. Initial consultation (usually takes 1 full business day) . It contains the following activities: A set of tests depending on the program. Consultation with a fertility specialist who will be in charge of your program (In case of stimulation you will need to have the transvaginal ultrasound check done). Consultation with a manager who will guide you through the program step by step . Signing of contracts . Before any initial consultation you are to receive the Guidelines for the Initial Consultation – Failure to follow these recommendations may affect the initial consultation in a negative way. Then search and comfirmation of a surrogate mother, matching process itself. Waiting time frames depend on type of the contract.

  22. This must be frustrating not to know the actual reason for infertility. Unfortunately this happens quite often. I've been hanging on differnt boards since spring and came across so many posts of the infertile! Some say they've been lucky to have 1 kid naturally but didn't have the same luck with baby#2. Others are sharing stories of failures and sudden successes. Fertility world is so fragile! My infertility journey started with official diagnosis- blocked tubes. Except my being 44 and this dx they found nothing extremelly bad about me. Did surgery which led to my left tube opening. I spent months on medicated cycles with monitoring but got no baby. Tried 4 ivf cycles with own in the UK but got no luck. Though ivf#3 got bfp, beta confirmed, rising then extremelly falling down. we lost our tiny bean. Our new dr at BTC felt too unpositive as for pushing us onto another ivf round. She advised using a gestational carrier. 'Our' ET 17th'Aug. beta confirmed pregnancy. All we're waiting for this 12 wks safe bound to pass smooth and that my bean is growing well and healthy inside the surrogate..Keeping my fingers crossed.
